What is IoT

What is IoT?  If  IoT is a phrase you have not been hearing, then you will, REAL SOON .  So you may be asking what in the world is IoT? However, instead of answering what in the world is IoT (which will take A LONG TIME), why don’t we start with the defination of IoT. Even though, that also could take awhile, we can start with how Wikipedia defines IoT.

How Wikipedia Defines IoT

The definition of the IoT ( Internet of things) has evolved due to the convergence of multiple technologies, real-time analytics, machine learning,  commodity sensors, and embedded systems. Traditional fields of embedded systems, wireless sensor networks, control systems, automation (including home and building automation), and others all contribute to enabling the Internet of things. In the consumer market, this technology is most synonymous with products pertaining to the concept of the “smart home”, covering devices and appliances (such as lighting fixtures, thermostats, home security systems and cameras, and other home appliances) that support one or more common ecosystems, and can be controlled by devices associated with that ecosystem, such as smartphones and smart speakers.

Say What?

The Wikipedia definition is fine and dandy, but, doesn’t sound like something I can connect to. A more simple way of looking at it is, one SMART thing connecting to or controlling another SMART thing.

In watching HGTV and DIY, once a year they have a give-away for a “SMART HOME”. EVERYTHING is controlled by a tablet or some other internet-connected device. I remember the first time I had seen the “reveal’ of their SMART HOME, I was like OMG HOW COOL IS THAT. Obviously, I did not leave the hospital with a computer device in my bassinet when I was born. However, it demonstrated to me just how far and fast IoT was advancing.

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to the growing network of physical objects that have an IP address for internet connectivity, and the communication that occurs between these objects and other Inter-enabled devices and systems.

IoT is Global

Because of the ever growing knowledge and expansion of network connectivity we are developing  Smart Cities.  In effect, all of the cities are being connected through The Peoples Network or Helium Hubs.

WHERE SHOULD YOU START?

GET FREE TV

It all starts with TippingCircle and The Performance Giving Network.  This works on a reward point system that is through  TIPPINGCIRCLE!!!  You will be able to activate your free TV.  You start with your Free TV Online and it just keeps getting Better and Better. In essence,  receive reward points just for watching TV!!!

In conclusion, you may be asking WHAT IN THE WORLD IS IoT? But a Better Question May Be – WHAT IN THE WORLD IS NOT IoT?
